Ball Penetrometer / T-Bar Penetrometer Testing
These "full flow penetrometers" have been designed to give a projected area that is 8 - 10 times that of the cone shaft. They provide the following advantages to standard CPT cones:
- Requires minimal correction to the measured penetration to provide net resistance;
- Improved accuracy and resolution in soft soils due to the larger projected area
Probedrill assisted with the early testing of the Ball and T-Bar penetrometers with the University of Western Australia (UWA). We can now provide a more robust Ball Penetrometer supplied by GeoMil.
