Equipment

At Probedrill, we use the latest equipment to carry out the most technologically advanced cone penetration testing (CPT). Our range of equipment includes:

  • a NEW 22 tonne (6x6) CPT  Truck Rig which jacks up to one metre off the ground
  • With NEW improvements to the 7 tonne track we can now conduct CPT probing whilst still on the back of the truck.  This gives us ANOTHER 22 tonne truck rig, with the option to reach hard to get to probe locations.
  • a 25 tonne (6x6) CPT Truck Rig, which jacks up to one metre off the ground
  • a 7 tonne CPT Track Rig (transported on MAN 6X6 truck) for hard to get at places. This rig comes with removable ballast weights to make rig heavier or lighter, depending on location.
  • a 12 tonne CPT Track Rig (transported on SCANIA 6x6 truck), which jacks up to 2m off the ground
  • a NEW portable probe, which can be used for underground car parks and other areas with limited access and has a 10 tonne pushing capacity
  • Kango drill jackhammers
  • electric chainsaws
  • bog boards
  • a 65mm hand auger
  • a walking measure wheel
  • a 12 Volt water sampling pump
  • a 103mm concrete coring drill

We have a fully equipped workshop to service and maintain all equipment.

Services

The services of Probedrill are used for:

  • infrastructure projects, including freeways, bridges, railways and windfarms
  • building and construction projects, including high rise buildings, housing estates, mine sites and tailings dams
  • projects in the marine industry, including tidal projects
  • research (in conjunction with the University of Western Australia)

Methods of Testing

Probedrill provides specialist services in a range of testing technologies, including:

  • tip & friction cone
  • piezocone – pore water & dissipation
  • mostap or Probedrill soil sampler – near continuous undisturbed soil sampling capability
  • resistivity cone
  • seismic cone
  • DMT (dilatometer testing)
  • T-Bar testing

Instrumentation

Probedrill can install instruments to help monitor developments over time. Examples of our instrumentation include:

  • standpipe piezometers to measure changes in water level (32mm or 20mm standpipes)
  • push-in vibrating wire piezometers to measure groundwater level
  • inclinometers
  • integrated push in piezometers and inclinometer

Graphs

We can provide you with a large range of graphs for your measurement and review purposes. Graphs can now be emailed in PDF format on request.
